It started with a chilly January morning, and I knew exactly what I wanted - to keep my bedroom warm and cozy, even on those balmy tropical nights when the temperature plummeted. So, I invested in this Vonhaus heat pump, which has been a game-changer for me since I first brought it home two years ago. The idea was to dry my washing over (and, let's be honest, keep my exotic poison dart frogs tanks at just the right temperature), and it's worked like a charm. As you'd expect from such an efficient machine, it has kept the room warm for extended periods of time, with some notable exceptions - those few hot summer weeks were a particular challenge, but I was determined to make sure the heat pumps had enough time to do their job.
When I say "constant use," I mean that I've been using it 24/7, except during the odd heatwave when we'd experience prolonged periods of high temperatures. To my delight, the Vonhaus has performed flawlessly in these situations, and I've never had a problem with its reliability or performance.
The power output is quite impressive, warming up the room relatively quickly - but let's be honest, it doesn't take long for things to heat up again if you drop the temperature too low. However, when it does warm up, there's no denying that it delivers. In less than 30 minutes, I can turn this space into a cozy haven on even the most sweltering days.
I'm also pleased to report that the Vonhaus can dry my laundry quickly - in fact, with just one wing airer set over the radiator, I can dry a pair of freshly washed jeans, combat trousers, five t-shirts, and a week's worth of underwear (and towel) in about an hour. And let me tell you, this isn't exactly the fastest time ever - double that time for an entire wing airer, if you were to try and dry everything overnight without any assistance.
Of course, there are some minor drawbacks to consider. The power cable is a bit short, and you'll need to find a suitable spot (i.e., 3 feet away from the window wall) to run it comfortably. And while I can get quite comfortable with the high output setting, I do find that it gets pretty hot when on - but that's just part of its charm, right?
One thing that keeps me coming back for more is the timer function, which can be a bit finicky at times. But once you're happy with the settings, there are no issues to speak of.
All in all, I'm thoroughly impressed with this Vonhaus heat pump - it's been an absolute lifesaver during those chilly winter months. The fact that it's lasted for two years without any major issues is a testament to its excellent build quality and performance, and I've already ordered another one to replace the temporary unit that failed on me so suddenly.
