Versatile Compatibility: Suitable for a wide range of radiator systems and configurations. Straight valve sets are most suited to situations where the central heating pipes emerge from the floor and where the radiator valve feeds are at the bottom of the radiator or heated towel rail. On occasions they can be used with radiators where the pipe entry feeds are at the side, although we would always advise checking with the installer to see what will be most suitable for your project.
We recommend all TRVs are installed on the flow rather than the return pipework of a radiator. When used in conjunction with a system automatic bypass valve this thermostatic valve can be installed on either the flow or return in any orientation. System automatic bypass valves are a specific building regulation requirement for all new installations and boiler upgrades. All bi-directional TRVs from any manufacturer require the bypass valve to function correctly and thus avoid radiator hammer
This valve is compatible with existing heating systems that use 15mm pipe and where the radiator has a ½ inch inlet. The valve can be use with most smart heating systems as the head fitting is M30 x 1.5 but please check the smart valve manufacturer first.
